Can anyone suggest a very good quality Hi8 player to use to watch Hi8 camcorder tapes on our TV?
Is it better to buy a camcorder versus a Hi8 player to play the tapes? Ultimately I want to put the old Hi8 tapes on DVD.
For what you're doing it's definitely easier and less expensive to buy a camcorder for playback. There are HI8 vcrs and they're generally available on Ebay but nowhere near as common or as cheap as a used camcorder.
